What this involves
A visit visa allows someone to enter the UAE for a defined short period — typically 30, 60 or 90 days — for tourism, family visits or business meetings. It does not permit employment.
Visit visas can be sponsored by a UAE company, a resident family member, or a hotel or tour operator. Company-sponsored visas are common for bringing in clients, contractors or family members of staff.
Extensions are possible in some cases, and some visit visa holders can change status to a residence visa from inside the country without exiting, which saves both time and an airfare.

Common questions
Can a visit visa be converted to a residence visa?
In many cases yes — a status change can be done inside the country without exiting, which saves time and the cost of a flight. Eligibility depends on the visa type and the applicant's nationality, so we confirm before you commit.
What happens if someone overstays?
Daily fines accrue from the day after expiry and must be settled before departure or before any new visa can be issued. Long overstays can also result in an entry ban, so it is worth tracking expiry dates carefully.
Can a visit visa holder work?
No. Working on a visit visa is illegal and carries penalties for both the individual and the company involved. If you want someone to start work, apply for a work permit.
