About Sharjah Publishing City Free Zone
SPC Free Zone built its reputation on speed. Licences are frequently issued the same day, and the zone offers a dual-licence arrangement with Sharjah Economic Development Department that lets a free-zone company also hold a mainland licence — useful if you need to serve UAE customers directly.
It permits an unusually broad activity list, including combinations that other zones will not put on a single licence. For founders whose business spans trading and services, this can avoid the cost of two separate companies.
Costs sit between SHAMS and the Dubai zones. The dual-licence route is the main reason to choose SPC over a cheaper Sharjah alternative.
Good fit for
- Businesses needing both free-zone and mainland reach
- Founders who want a licence issued immediately
- Companies combining trading and service activities
- Publishing, printing and media businesses
Consider alternatives if
- Businesses that only ever sell outside the UAE — cheaper options exist
- Heavy manufacturing or large-scale logistics
What it costs
The figures below cover the SPC Free Zone licence and the related government fees. The biggest variable is visa count — each residence visa adds both an allocation cost on the licence and a per-person processing cost.
| Item | From |
|---|---|
| Licence only, no visa allocation | AED 6,500 |
| Licence with 1 visa allocation | AED 12,500 |
| Licence with 2 visa allocations | AED 16,500 |
| Dual licence add-onAdds mainland trading rights | AED 9,500 |
| Establishment card | AED 1,100 |
| Residence visa, per person | AED 3,600 |
These are indicative 2026 market ranges, shown so you can budget realistically. Government fees change and every case differs — we send a fixed written quote covering your exact activity, visa count and facility before you commit to anything.

SPC Free Zone questions
What does the dual licence actually let me do?
It allows a single company to hold both a free-zone licence and a Sharjah mainland licence, so you can trade directly with UAE customers without appointing a distributor. It is the main structural advantage SPC has over comparable zones.
Is same-day licensing realistic?
For standard activities with complete documents, yes — SPC is genuinely one of the fastest zones in the country. Regulated activities requiring external approval will take longer.
