About Ajman Media City Free Zone

Ajman Media City is a compact free zone aimed at media, creative and professional service businesses. Its packages are structured for individuals and very small teams rather than larger operations.

The zone is straightforward and inexpensive, with quick issuance and a permitted activity list that covers most consultancy, media and digital services. It competes directly with SHAMS on price.

It suits freelancers formalising their work into a company, and small agencies that need a licence and one or two visas without the overhead of a Dubai zone.

Good fit for

  • Freelancers formalising into a company
  • Small creative and digital agencies
  • Individual consultants needing one visa
  • Cost-focused founders

Consider alternatives if

  • Larger teams needing many visas
  • Businesses needing warehousing or industrial space
  • Companies where a Dubai address matters

What it costs

The figures below cover the ANC Free Zone licence and the related government fees. The biggest variable is visa count — each residence visa adds both an allocation cost on the licence and a per-person processing cost.

Licence with 1 residence visaAED 9,500

ANC Free Zone questions

What is the difference between a freelance permit and a company licence?

A freelance permit lets you trade under your own name as an individual professional. A company licence creates a separate legal entity that can have multiple shareholders, hire staff and hold contracts in the company name. If you plan to grow beyond yourself, start with the company licence.

Can I upgrade later?

Yes. Moving from a freelance permit to a full company licence is straightforward, and we can handle the transition when your business is ready.
